On-Line Security - UPG

The Woodwind & Brass website uses "UPG" to process credit and debit card payments. UPG stands for Universal Payment Gateway. This is the name of our Secure Hosting payment gateway and is the name the banks use to refer to our online payment service.

This payment gateway connects our web site to the bank over the Internet. If the bank authorises the transaction the payment gateway will return a confirmation page back to you (the customer). This is an extremely safe way of processing payments. There are no recepts with card numbers on them, the full card information is not stored. What it does mean, is that no incorrect card numbers, expiry dates or CV2 numbers can go through - they will not be accepted. We do not process payment manually, your card is pre-authorised and if the goods are in stock and ready to ship we download payment without even having seen your card details ourselves. This is quick, efficient and very secure.

Please contact us if you are unsure about any of the above.

Our secure server uses 128bit SSL encryption. This is to encrypt all data as it is transferred over the Internet. Encryption means that your credit card details are converted into a code that mixes up the numbers and letters into an unreadable format. 128bit SSL encryption is a worldwide security standard that encrypts credit card information.

WHEN PROVIDING PAYMENT DETAILS LOOK FOR THE PADLOCK IN YOUR EXPLORER BAR - IT MEANS YOU ARE IN A SECURE AREA
